We did it. We got Elijah's hair cut. Dan and I found a good compromise: his hair is now short enough that it doesn't get in his eyes, but long enough so that he still has some of the curls. He was not a happy man during the cut. As much as he's been poked and hurt lately, I can't blame him for being scared and upset.
The "before" pic. Could that face be any cuter?
The hair was definitely needing a trim (even I'll admit it)
I am NOT happy about this!
The keys helped, but they didn't stop the tears
This picture just makes me want to cry! What a sad little face.

Hi,
I am a fan of your blog. I came upon your blog via link from other heart blogs.
My son had TOF and had his repair in Jan this year. That's why I can relate to your journal.
Elijah is incredibly cute. He actually sat and allowed his hair to be cut without putting up a struggle, though he was feeling darn miserable with tears and all?

The pictures are just too cute! Elijah looks terrific! I am glad that mostly everyone in the Porta house is happy with the cut...sorry Eli...you will just have to learn to talk soon so that you can tell Mommy & Daddy NO next time! I am glad that you were able to salvage the curls...he is just adorable!
Love ya!

Oh my gosh! He is so stinking cute! My two favorite pictures are the super happy before picture and the super sad after picture. Poor little cutie pie!
Great compromise! Glad to see the curls are still there! The before pics are sooooo cute!! Love the big smiles! Then....it's like he's saying "hey, you guys played a dirty trick on me"! And the last one? "I'm going to keep acting like I'm upset, but man do I look GOOD!" :) Have a great weekend Porta family!!
Love ya!

Oh, my - what crocodile tears! Glad to see all the curl isn't gone:0) Hopefully you saved the snipped locks so I can glue the curls to my hair - LOL! I have to say, that I am still jealous of the curls! Hopefully you all have a great weekend!
XOXOXOXO
Good compromise. I miss the locks but he looks just handsome. I absolutley love the first two pictures in the hat...how adorable!
I wanted to thank you for the shirt. I LOVE it and worn it twice already. I feel so proud to tell everyone who Elijah is and how strong of a little boy he is! Go Elijah Go!
Haha - he is too cute!! I need to come and munch on those fat rolls!! His hair is very cute. You guys made a great compromise!!

He still looks ever so handsome even with his sad face. Just love the curls. Much love to all from Australia xxoo
I can't believe Elijah actually sat in the chair and got his hair cut! What a big boy! We had to abandon the idea when Bilal was about the same age, and have been cutting his hair at home instead. He still looks adorably cute, of course!
OH could they not be any sweeter???? Ben showed his "torture", too. hehe. I love the cut!!!
What a brave lil man... I just about had to crash tackle my guy for his first haircut.. he was like a wild cat!!!
Tim and I LOVED these last photos....too cute! Although I was for keeping the hair long, he is still adorable and I think it was a great compromise. I cannot believe he sat still for the cut. What a good little guy!
Awwwhhh.... Elijah - you new cut is so cute... that little sad face - too cute.
Ohhh-love the haircut! My mom used to be a hairdresser so she cuts Colin's hair for me and he always looks like such a big boy when she cuts it. Elijah definetely looks like a big boy with his cut!! Cutie!!
Too cute! The tears tell me he was upset to loose his hair!!! lol...but I love the compromise you both came to. The end result is just adorable.
