Would you think it was strange if I told you that our not even 4-month-old baby is teething? Because he is. He has been a little bit extra fussy/clingy/whiny lately and he has been trying to gnaw on everything in sight. I peeked into his mouth last week and sure enough, there are two little teeth ready to poke through on the bottom.
I find this crazy! Or is it more normal than I think?

No worries! Completely normal. 6.5 months is average. Some babies are even born with teeth already erupted! I am sure that is fun for nursing mothers :)
My first son was teething at 3 months! This was over 11 years ago, but I remember I was talking to my sister in law and she kept saying it couldn't be true, he was way too young .. then about a week later out popped a tooth! Guess who was the first person I called to tell ... yup, it was her! lol.
So ... it is early, but it does happen! And fast forward to age 4 or 5, he'll probably lose them a bit early too. My son lost the bottom 2 teeth the summer before he even started school.
