Pumpkins and apples

On Friday night the three of us went to a nearby apple orchard/pumpkin patch. The weather was perfectly crisp and Fall-like (good thing we soaked it in since there was snow on the ground this morning).

Elijah loved the pumpkins (punt-ins) and the bumpy hayride and of course all of the apple picking and eating.

Dan worked on Saturday while Elijah and I went to my cousin's little girl's first birthday party. It was so nice to see family! (No pics from that, bummer.)

I feel like I was walking around like a Zombie all weekend. Elijah and I are still not caught up on sleep from our travels last week. Maybe another week of super early bedtimes will do the trick? Man, I am old!

On Sunday Elijah and I took much-needed naps and I made my very first (caramel) apple pie. I must say, it is pretty darn good. Half of it is gone already. Later this week will be apple crisp and pumpkin carving.

Just send that (carmel)apple pie my way... I'll gladly help you finish it! Sounds yummy!!

I just love the pics of Mr. Elijah... he's another one that keeps getting older/bigger. We need to tell these kiddos to quit that!

As for the bedtime... I'm with ya on early ones. Its just after 9 & I'm ready to hit the hay! Hope you get caught up on rest soon!!

ohh...too cute!
We never get to go to pumpkin patches...do you know why? Because there are NONE here! People bring in the pumpkins and put them in store parking lots...and you get to pick up a pumpkin from the asphalt (not the same)

That little munchkin is so darn cute!
and snow on the ground already?? what??
you're giving me goose bumps!

Snow? Really???

Could that little one be any more cute?? He is adorable! I love his hat.

Caramel apple pie? That sounds delicious. You definitely trumped my slice and bake cookies I made this weekend!

Hi Megan,

I love the pumpkin pictures! Elijah is as cute as ever all bundled up! :)

I'm so glad that his cardiology appt. went well. I was thinking of you guys all day. I saw your note on Facebook that everything had gone well and was so relieved to hear it. I figured I'd catch up here on all of the details.

Ugh...I know just the very thought of "when" the next surgery is can drive you nuts. Please know that I'm thinking of you.

I'm glad you guys had a nice vacation. I enjoyed seeing the zoo and beach pictures! I'm sorry you had a rough time at the gate, though. It made me think of the time I was traveling from Philly to Alaska with my 2 girls. They were 3 years and 4 months at the time. I had used our frequent flier miles to actually buy a ticket for my youngest because it's such a long flight, and I wanted the extra room so I could nurse her, too. They tried to split us all up! I was like you and started crying....I wanted to scream, "Well, who's going to feed the baby?!" :) Thankfully, they figured out we all needed to be together....

Well, give that sweet little boy a big hug from us! It sounds like he's just talking up a storm lately. That's so exciting!

Love & Prayers,

Wendy (& Emma, too!)

OMG! I so miss going to apple orchards in Minnesota. We loved going to those when we lived there. Looks like y'all had a great time. What a great place to live. Love the pictures.
