Off week

Sorry for the lack of updates this week. It started out a normal week and ended up a very not normal week. One of the not normal things is that Elijah is now taking Tamiflu. A little girl who Elijah plays with a lot at daycare has the H1N1 virus. He was in close proximity with her all week. Ugh. So far he is showing no symptoms, but that doesn't mean that it's not brewing in his body. I am crazily freaked out about this. Not only does Elijah have a complicated heart condition, he also has only one kidney and childhood asthma. Please God, protect our boy!

There is a little bit of other drama going on, but all of that is still unfolding. Aside from all of this, Elijah is doing really well. His speech continues to blossom and he makes new strides every day. Last week he started climbing up onto the couch all by himself!

That's all for now. I just wanted to let everyone know we are still alive! We would appreciate any prayers of protection you are willing to send Elijah's way.

Good luck! Harrison had it and we got very very lucky with recovery. I have been told to swab nose with warm salt water daily and gargle with warm salt water too. Apparently, doing this prevents anything from growing into an infection. I will pray for the Tamiflu to work.

That is awesome that E is climbing onto the couch.

Stay warm and healthy!

Hey guys,

I've heard that the H1N1 virus shows symptoms really quick, like 3-6 hours. If that is the case, then hopeufully E.P. is in the clear. It sucks to have to worry about this stuff doesn't it?

Megan -

I know (to an extent) what you are going through. I know how worried I am about the rest of my family getting it - if that is what we have. I have been spraying lysol and using disinfecting wipes like crazy. I will pray for your family!!!

Yes! Lord, please protect all of the heart families from the H1N1 virus!

I saw the comment about the salt water ... I'm wondering how I could do that with Luke? If you come up with any ideas, let me know!

I'm back home and saying my prayers that you all are protected from this virus! Hope the drama is getting better too. Story... Evan must have heard about the h1n1 virus on the news and at school. He is learning to sound out words and writing them. He came out of his room with a piece of paper that he had wrote... H one n one.

Tamiflu kept Bennett and Gracie healthy when I had H1N1. Gracie ran fever for one day and that was it.

Stay well little buddy!!

I hope all the other drama resolves itself quickly for you.

Keep doing all of the awesome tricks Mr. Elijah!!

We've just had confirmed cases of H1N1 in our county, so I'm kinda getting a little worried here. I can't imagine how I'd be if Vaeh were directly exposed?!?!?!!

As for Miss V's orthotics she has an SMO on the right (comes up just above her ankle bones) & a UCB on the left, which is inside her shoe. She's doing GREAT with them & her therapist even said how much of a difference she sees in her already (she just got them on Friday!)!!

Sending up bunches of prayers that you all stay healthy! Give that little man big hugs from us... way to go!!
