Healing up

Elijah is feeling a bit better today. He still has a wicked cough and has been throwing up occasionally. His steroids and nebulizer treatments have kept him from sleeping as well as he normally does. Last night he was up from about 11pm to 5:30am, when we finally just got up for the day. He has to take the steroids for two more days and hopefully after those are done he'll start sleeping wonderfully through the night like he did before. This is killing Mommy and Daddy! We are zombies (especially Dan). Because Elijah is still not 100%, we probably won't start his new daycare until next week, after his heart cath. That is scheduled for next Monday, so we pray that he'll be healthy enough to go through with it. We really do not want to reschedule it again. We have realized lately that our boy is....well, he likes to be comfortable. We've watched him from afar while he's playing with his toys and he totally has the physical ability to roll from his back to his tummy. He just doesn't want to do it! When I prop him up in an attempt to get him to sit on his own, he'll just lean back and rest comfortably on my legs. I think he'd just rather not do the extra work. He's definitely going to be a very late crawler/walker. That's ok....that gives me more time to smooch on that juicy, chubby double chin without him running away from me.

Elijah has definitely gotten his appetite back. He swallows his food at lightning speed. I have to be super speedy mommy to get those savory sweet potatoes to his mouth in time.

Getting a nebulizer treatment

Cute weiner dog outfit. And look! He's holding his bottle all by himself!

Don't you just want to smooch on that pretty face?

Okay...so not fair...yours does not arch his back and scream bloody murder when you give him the breathing treatments! Is it the steroids through the nebulizer that interrupts his sleep? Maybe that is why Micah is not sleeping as well either???

UPS will be stopping by your house on Thursday with a package for Mr. Eli...I am glad it will get there before his cath...that way he can bring it with him.

As for the crawling/walking thing...I have decided it is over-rated. Noah & Leah walk, but obviously Micah does not yet, and that is just fine with me...more love and snuggling from the baby. Enjoy your precious little chunky monkey...he is adorable!

Dan...I hope the interview went well for you yesterday...

Hugs to you all.

He gives us a little giggle when we turn on the pump for each treatment and then he tries to "eat" the mist. Oh and our ped told us that the steroids (he takes them orally with a bottle) affect sleep and nebulizer treatments also affect sleep.

We are excited to see what UPS has for us. Thank you!! So very sweet of you. We'll let you know when we get it.

Dan's interview went well. It was a group interview with three candidates in the same room at the same time (I've never heard of such a thing) and one of the guys kept countering things that Dan would say in hopes of making him look bad. He should find out about the job by the end of the week.

Olivia says she wants to smooch that little face. I told her she's too little to think like that, but she said--Mom he's just TOO cute!

Our boys have the same weiner dog outfit! Gymboree (spelling?) has the cutest clothes! Looks like your Eli puts up with the nebulizer much better than our little Elijah. We miss you guys.

Love,
Katie and the boys

Will you PLEASE come and show Isaac how to eat like that!!! He's absolutely adorable! I can't believe you guys are in sweaters already...we're spoiled with the weather here! Good luck Dan...I've done the group interview before...it's ridiculous. We have a dinosaur mask that our Eli uses for his breathing treatments. When your Eli is older...I'll bet that's something he'd like...growling and watching the smoke come from the dinosaur mask! (funny!)

Hi guys! Oh, I hope all of you get sleep very, very soon! I too have NEVER heard of a group interview. What the?! Did he know about that setup before he went?

Did he dance and sing during the interview? I'm sure that would have sealed the deal. he he......

I'm so happy you found a daycare provider that can give Eli extra attention and care. What a blessing!

Give Eli a big hug for me and good luck to Dan on the job! luv, Kendis

Definitely enjoy the cuddles while you can. Though I must say, while Jacob doesn't want to cuddle much he is still a never ending supply of hugs and kisses- which I absolutely adore of course.

The photos are adorbale :)
