Answered prayers

Holding back many happy tears right now. I am in disbelief as we sit here with our extubated, non-croupy boy. NO CROUP. No croup. And extubated! I still don't believe it. The first thing he asked for? Mama. Second thing? A snack (sorry kid, not for a while yet). Third thing? To say a prayer (awwww). Fourth thing? Despicable Me. :)

He's on pain meds and in and out of sleep. He is doing great. Beyond great. The doctors are amazed and impressed.

Dan and I will sleep here in his room with him tonight. We are so thankful for all of you who check in and pray and send good thoughts and messages our way.

Yay!! Such good news! I had to take Elaina to go get lab work done (she sees cardiology in a couple of weeks) and the first thing I did when we got back was check your blog. Praying for continued good recovery and hopefully you can get some snuggles in if he's feeling up to it!
Love you guys!

Megan,

That's awesome news! I'm so relieved to hear that Elijah is extubated and that there's no croup! Yippee!!! So sweet that he wanted his mommy...and a snack...and Despicable Me! He's such a cutie...he'll be taking his nurse's restaurant order before you know it! :) (Loved reading that...Emma does the same exact thing, but with just not as many words!)

Anyway, just had to tell you that I was so happy to see your newest update. Give that amazing boy a gentle hug from us, and I'll be praying that you all get some much needed rest tonight!

Lots of Love,

Wendy (& Emma, too!)

Megan, I have been the worst at keeping up with blogs. I just saw your post on facebook and came running to see what was going on. I am so glad Elijah's surgery was a success and he is doing well. Praying for a smooth recovery.

Megan, I haven't been checking in as often, (being in a different country has totally thrown me off!) but I have been thinking of you guys a lot. Such a blessing that the surgery went well and yay for no croup! Continued prayers for an uneventful recovery. Elijah is a trooper, I'm sure he'll show off his spunk in working to get out of there soon :)
