A bit more calm now

King Elijah, sprawled out and watching Veggie Tales

Poor guy, not feeling well, but at least he stopped crying!

We finally got Elijah calmed down a bit, but he still won't sleep and he's still a pretty crabby guy. We've only seen a slight smile when we first turned Veggie Tales on. He must have a really sore throat from the tube because he won't have anything to do with the bottle. He is doing better, though! He still has the MR-850 giving him oxygen because his tummy is still retracting a bit, but it's not too bad. All the doctors have said that he looks great.

We're hoping for a nice night of rest and further healing for him. Our nurse is still giving him doses of tylenol and morphine to help with the pain and with sleep.

Today was quite the day. Dan and I feel like our heads are spinning. But we know it could be so much worse! We are just thankful that we have our son right now and that he is in such good hands and that he is doing so well. He is amazingly strong and brave. We couldn't be more proud! Thank you all so much for the huge amounts of prayer. We have felt it so strongly!

I KNEW you'd have the Veggie Tales with you!!! That's the first thing we had to do when Isaac woke up (but, you know it was Yo Gabba Gabba--poor nurses!)
He looks AWESOME!!!
You look beautiful Megan! (don't look sleep deprived at all..does that mean you found a bed last night??)
Prayers are still headed your way...
I'm SO glad that you posted again (I told you I check on you a million times a day!!!)
Hugs to all of you...

Yes, I agree with Kathy...you look terrific!!! And that beautiful boy is just that, beautiful. I know that this is hard, but you all are doing such a great job...you have tremendous medical people working on that adorable boy and such love all around the world.

Thanks for the pictures of Mr. Adorable!

Lots of love,

Amazing! Elijah looks great and so do you. I am sure Dan does too. I can't wait to see the Moga photo either. We have our picture of him with Harrison and he has that smile. He is just as good looking as he is compassionate. I am sure he hasn't aged a bit in 2 years. I am so thrilled that all tubes are out, except for lines of course. Gets some rest and keep feeling the power of prayers.

Hooray for Veggie Tales to coax a little smile! (If that were Jacob, I would need Barney!!) You do look great, Megan...like you've just been out casually running some errands or something!!! Hopefully you're getting a little bit of rest. Every night I pray that tomorrow is an even easier day for you guys! Big hugs to that cute little guy (and to you, too)!!!

Love,

Cindy

You have to admit, Veggie Tales can bring out a smile in anyone! Hopefully by tomorrow the smiles will be there to stay. Poor little guy, he's probably just sick and tired of being poked and prodded at. Home would be such a good thing for all of you, let's hope it's not too far away.

I came via "Wanna be slimmer" and wish you all the best. My youngest (now 30)had a very long illness between 15 mths and about 3 and there were nights when I was so afraid I would lose her...still makes me cry to remember that fear...she survived and is a beautiful woman now. May you be able to look at your 30 year old sone in the distant future and remember this time knowing what a precious gift you have.

Gotta love Veggie Tales! I remember after Arianna's surgery she watched Little People...over and over. It's funny cause to this day that is the only movie that she will sit for 30 minutes and watch. I wish she watched Veggie Tales though cause I LOVE Veggie Tales. Yes...I was the mom that wanted to go to the theater to see the movie, but didn't get to go :(

Thank you SO much for the pictures! You both look amazing. I think that is kind of silly that Dr. Moga didn't want to take a picture. That is the first thing I asked our surgeon when Arianna was awake. It's a picture I'll treasure forever, even with her completely swollen body. That's one thing I was going to tell you...Elijah doesn't look very swollen at all, but then again he is a chunky monkey to begin with. Okay...I'm just rambling. Hope you guys got beds tonight...that is if Elijah will let you sleep.

Hugs,

Vanessa

Seriously, you and Elijah look so good. He doesn't look swollen or bruised, and you look like the hot mama as always. So glad to see everyone is doing well. Still praying and thinking of you all always. I know you must be exhausted, but you are so upbeat...Amazing Mom, that's what you are! XO
