Quiet day so far

So far, we've had a very quiet day here in the PICU. Elijah has maintained a good heartbeat (w/o help from the pacemaker), good blood pressure, a good temperature and good oxygen sats. What a champ! He has even started to finally pee a bit in the past few hours. He has been trying to wake up most of the afternoon, so we're keeping him sedated as much as possible. He's a bit of a wiggle worm right now, even after a nice dose of Morphine.

We are not yet out of the woods and still have a lot ahead, so please continue to keep him in your prayers and THANK YOU SO MUCH for the prayers so far!

More later.....just wanted to get an update out quick.

So glad to hear that Elija is doing a little better. We continue to pray for complete healing and that the doctors will have wisdom on how to get the air out of his lung. That oxygen sats look excellent and that is awesome that he is that high. PTL. Just wanted to let you know we are praying and thinking of you guys throughout the day and trust you both can get a good nights rest tonight and that Elijah will also rest well.

Great news that the day has been quiet so far, and that the kidneys are starting to cooperate! I know what you mean when you say wiggle worm. They had to give Nevaeh pavulon (paralytic) for a few days after her last surgery so that she would stay still - even the morphine didn't work! My kiddo likes her drugs! Continued prayers for healing!

I'm SO glad that you gave us a "good night" post...you know...Elijah's like one of our own babies...and we've been worried sick all day!!
We care about ALL three of you...and hope your stress levels are down (as much as possible) and Mr. Elijah is getting some GOOD rest!!!
Sweet dreams guys!
Hugs all around,
Kathy

Yea...I am so proud of you guys!!! Hang in there...the first 48 hours is almost done!!! That boy is amazing!!! Thanks for the update, I have been thinking about you guys all day long...I would have called you earlier, BUT (are you ready for this?) I dropped my cell phone in the TOILET!!! YUCKY!!! I am currently in the process of disinfecting it...I will be getting a new one in a few days...until then...I need to find a headset since I won't put it to my face...there, I gave you something to laugh at!

Lots of love,
Samantha

It sounds like positive progress is being made. And a quiet day in the PICU is certainly welcome. I am sure I will cry if and when I see Sophia's sats as high as Elijah's. Wishing all of you a restful night and continued progress.

Yeah...I couldn't be happier going to bed...knowing that our little Elijah is doing so well. I pray you all get a good night's sleep. Thanks for keeping us informed!

btw...is Elijah intubated through the nose? It sure looks that way in the pictures...In all my experience, have never heard of such a thing....and I thought I knew it all!

So happy to hear that Elijah is doing well. Great SAT's. Colin had fevers after his surgeries also and many times we all had to put those cold washclothes all over him. Get some rest for yourselves for when he wakes he will want you both. The prayers will keep coming for you and all of those little boys and girls. Love, Colin's grandmother from Connecticuct

I am thinking of your special little man and holding him close to my heart.

How long is the "woodsy" period? It sounds like he is doing GREAT!
